Traffic Stop Leads To Money Seizure

(Litchfield)--A traffic stop in Montgomery county lead to the seizure of over eight thousand dollars. According to Illinois State Police, on February 15th a trooper stopped a 2012 KIA in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55, near mile marker 51 for a traffic violation.

During an investigation, three large bundles of money totaling over eighty nine hundred dollars was discovered. The passenger of the vehicle revealed that the money was intended for criminal activity.

The names of the two individuals have not been released by State Police. The incident remains under investigation.
